Texas Jr. Mini-Stock
DRIVER REQUIREMENTS:
Must be 12 years of age. Must not be older than 16 years. If a driver is racing
and during that race season he turns 17 he will be allowed to complete the
remainder of the season. All drivers must have a good working knowledge of how
to operate a car and all required safety procedures before entering on to the
racing surface. It will be the sole responsibility of the parent to see that
your child has the working knowledge to enter onto the racing surface safely. Notarized
release forms must be completed before being allowed to race.
NO CONTACT RULE any driver contacting another driver's car
will be put to the back on the first offense and on the second offense will be
ask to leave the track .
CHASSIS:
Car must be 1962 or newer with 4 cylinder motor. Trucks are allowed. Front or
rear wheel drive allowed. Cars must be stock appearing as they came from the
factory. No sharp edges allowed on bumpers, tow loops allowed on bumpers not to
exceed width of frame. Aftermarket plastic front nose pieces allowed. Stock
floor pan must be in car and unaltered unless repairs have been made due to rust
or crash damage and then all repairs must be made with steel. No aluminum in
floor pan. Fire wall and trunk floor must be retained also. Wheel base must be
stock for that make and model car.
BODY:
Front fender wells may be removed. Fenders may be trimmed for tire clearance. Rear
inner fender wells must remain in car. Hole allowed in the hood for air filter only. No
spoilers allowed unless it was a factory item. Routine maintence of the appearance
of your car is required.
ROLL CAGE:
Minimum 4 point cage with x bracing required.3 door bars on drivers side and 2
door bars on passenger side are required. Roll cage bars may run from front or
rear of car but must not extend outside of body anywhere. All cages are to be
constructed with the drivers utmost safety in mind. All welds must be complete
and done by a trained welder. If you aren't one when building your car, find someone. Your
child's safety depends on it! Rub rails are permitted and may be attached to body. Must
not extend past rear of front fender or front of rear fender and be no larger
diameter than 1x2 box tubing or 1 1/4 round tubing.
SUSPENSION:
Must remain stock from factory. No interchanging of leaf or coil springs. No
aftermarket suspension parts. No weight jacks of any type permitted. Lowering
blocks on leaf spring cars will be permitted not to exceed 3 inches. Upper and
lower control arms must remain unaltered and be for make and model of vehicle. All
shocks and struts must remain in stock location.
STEERING:
Steering box must be stock and in original location. Steering may be quickened
and a quick release steering wheel is permitted.
REAR END:
Must be o.e.m. rear. Locking of rear is permitted.
BRAKES:
All cars must have at least 3 wheel brakes. No aftermarket pedals master
cylinders or proportioning valves allowed.
TIRES AND WHEELS:
Tires must be a passenger car type capable of having a road hazard warranty and
be for street use only. Must be D.O.T. approved and not exceed a 70 series in size. Any
steel wheel 7 inches wide or less allowed. No beadlocks.
WEIGHT
All cars (or trucks) must weigh minimum 2400 lbs after the race including
driver.
ENGINES:
All engines must remain stock from factory. 2.3 liter on Fords,2.4 liter on
foreign and 2.5 liter on G.M., twin overhead cams NOT ALLOWED, turbo charged
engines NOT ALLOWED, Bore size not to exceed .060 over stock. Heads and block
can be milled. Rods and crankshaft must remain stock. No aluminum heads allowed
unless it came on that vehicle and no porting allowed. All valve sizes must
remain stock. Stock stroke to be retained on all engines. Cam must be capable of
producing 15 in. of vacuum at 900 r.p.m. All engines must remain in stock location. Solid
motor mounts permitted and strongly advised. No headers allowed. All exhaust
must be directed behind rear of drivers seat.
CARBURETORS:
Any 2 bbl carburetor allowed not to exceed 500 c.f.m. Choke horn must be in
place but flap may be removed. Fuel injection type vehicles must be stock for
make and model with no modifications allowed. No turbo chargers are allowed. Electric
fuel pumps will be allowed only on fuel injected cars and must have a cut off
switch that kills fuel pump if vehicle loses oil pressure to prevent fuel pump
to continue to run in the event of a roll over. This will be MANDATORY
on all fuel injected cars.
IGNITION:
Stock type ignition only. Only one battery is allowed and if in drivers
compartment must be securely mounted in an enclosed battery box. Gel cell
batteries strongly advised. All cars must also have a battery disconnect switch
mounted in easy access of all safety personnel that will kill all the electrical
system when activated to protect the driver in the event of fuel loss during a
crash or roll over.
SAFETY:
This class will abide by the same general safety rules in place for all other
105 Speedway classes. Fire suits, gloves, neck braces and window nets are
required, Roll bar padding is strongly advised. All cars must have a working
fire extinguisher mounted securely with in drivers reach. All helmets must be
current and have the appropriate safety ratings. Racing seats with a 5 point
seat belt required. All seat belts must be current and up to date as marked.
Fuel cell is required and must be securely mounted in all cars with the
exception of fuel injected vehicles. If stock tank is to be used in fuel
injected cars it must be securely enclosed to prevent damage and fuel loss in
the event of a crash. Stock fuel tanks must have a steel skid plate, minimum
thickness of 1/8 in, to protect bottom of tank. Fuel cells are strongly recommended
in this type of car as well. If car has weight added it must be safely and
securely fastened and painted white.
ENGINE CLAIM RULE:
105 Speedway has the right to claim any motor from intake to oil pan for
$500.00 if necessary to keep motors within the spirit that this class is
intended for. Refusal of engine claim will result in all points and disqualification
for that night. This is a kids class designed to give the kids a stepping stone
to the higher classes and foremost to promote a good family hobby and enjoyment.
DRIVE LINE:
No aluminum flywheels, mini clutches or couplers allowed. Must run stock clutch
and pressure plate. Must have hole in bell housing for inspection purposes. Safety
shield is required over bell housing to protect driver, All automatic
transmissions must have a working stock diameter torque converter. Trans.
coolers allowed. All rear wheel drive cars must have a drive shaft loop. All drive shafts
must be painted white.
This is the first season for this class at 105 Speedway. The rules that are in
place may be amended at any time for the betterment of the class. This class
will start with hot laps and feature races only in the beginning stages. As the
car count grows and the need arises heat races may be required. Trophy's will be
awarded for 1st,2nd and 3rd place finishes in the feature.
